About us

Experience of ethics and entrepreneurship were behind the founding of Respect in the spring of the year 2000. Anita and Gordon Roddick had successfully combined business with sustainability at the Body Shop. Per-Uno Alm and Kaj Embrén are two Swedish pioneers in the environmental strategy. Together they founded Respect with the objective of clarifying the relationships between profitability, responsible and sustainable development. Sustainable business was to be profitable business.

Respect has initiated and operated top level networks, which have been pioneers of developing sustainable business in various fields. It is the front edge competence within these networks that is the foundation of Respect’s sustainability services and tools.

Ten years after the founding of Respects we are proud to note that many of the founders’ vision have been realised. Today we are working with great enthusiasm with the sustainability challenges of tomorrow.
